Date: Monday, October 5, 2026
Meeting Start: 6:02 PM
Location: Virtual, via GoogleMeet
Attendees: Jessica G., Jaime H., Angela C., Paige T., Haley S., Greg S., Samantha S.
Item 1: President’s Report (Jessica G.):
“Virtual Meeting’s technology fun!”
A. Thanks, Everyone (& to our VP Jaime for organizing our earlier ‘virtual meeting’ with Richie Lipstein’s Jamband Alliance.) Recap/thoughts?
Today’s initial meeting went well; all officers felt positive about Lipstein’s energy and demeanor.
He approached us to discuss his nonprofit the National Jam Band Alliance, formed last year; website launched this year. His goals are to support local chapters and fund band Jam Bands.
Lipstein is an attorney. He mentioned a CPA on his team. Has an engineer and full studio available to chapters. Pursuing meetings with Peter Shapiro and Golden Voice
He discussed two options for us to consider. Under his umbrella: he handles 501©(3) compliance, IRS filings, legal structure. Or maintaining independence and receiving support by submitting grant proposals to his board.
Rebranding would be to LVJBA (Las Vegas Jam Band Alliance) Other cities in talks: Arizona (his home base), San Francisco
Homework for all officers: explore his website thoroughly before next meeting
Once his proposal arrives (expected within days), possibly connecting with Jay Bryce (attorney, original founder) to review any contract language. If not, asking a plan B to help review.
Second meeting with Lipstein tentatively planned for Monday, November 2nd (before Election Day). TBD.
B. Ad-Partnerships updates:
*BBLV: Still no reply (2x messages sent) in regards to Ad-Partnership for the Fall shows.
Dub Side of the Moon w/ RedEyeGin (Oct. 16), UB40 (Nov. 1), Violent Femmes (Dec. 13)
C. Our Q4 SandDollar LV event: MOKSHA is confirmed for Friday, 10/23.
TABLE SET-UP, 8 PM: Jaime has the suitcase and will meet Jessica at 8 PM for set-up. Jessica has license plates & raffle dyes.
RAFFLE: JamminOn Dyes on-hand (XXXL sizes) & (additional IF the Area51 SoundTest shirts get finished.)
TABLE VOLUNTEERS: Request for volunteers to go out soon.
D. Instrument donations to Cortney JHS’s ORCHESTRA program (Viola) will be on WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 21st at NOON & the BAND program (Guitar) will take place MONDAY, NOVEMBER 23rd @ 8 AM.
● Jessica asked about the FERPA (Privacy act) of students displayed online without Parent signed permissions, etc. A Zoom call or Facebook Live can not happen, yet a GoogleMeet can be done. Jessica would have to ‘allow’ the viewing guests (Officers/Committee Heads) to join in to watch. (Might be hard to ‘see’ since it will be on a laptop, but we will aim to please.)
E. As of today, we now have 5,000 Facebook Fans. We had mentioned announcing when there are 5k Fan-Likes & offering an Annual Membership to that lucky recipient! STEVE DAWSON (from Cedar City, Utah) Jessica/Paige will reach out to let him know and invite him to come to town for the 4Q Moksha show.
F. Thanks to those who helped out at the FALL Adopt-A-Highway clean-up event.
G. 2027 Officers NOMINATIONS to happen in OCTOBER. Jessica created a GoogleForm and will create a Facebook post with the Offices listed where people can comment their nominations (form open until Sunday, Nov. 1st). Details/Link were sent to JT today, to help with the WildApricot email sharing after tonight’s
meeting. Once nominations are done, the deadline for the
ACCEPTING/DECLINING the Nomination(s) will be November 15th.
NOVEMBER: On, or before, November 22nd, VOTING for the OFFICERS (only PAID Members can vote. We will create a GoogleForm BALLOT to submit votes, sending it via email to the paid members. (Yet, to ensure only PAID Members are voting, this will not be able to remain anonymous; therefore, only a couple Officers will have access to the responses and to count the votes.) (All nominees will be invited to the December meeting.)
DECEMBER: Public Meeting, on December 1st, will allow in-person ballots for those Members in attendance to vote that way, if preferred. (Jessica to create paper ballots, bringing ballots/pens to the meeting). At the meeting’s end, the ANNOUNCEMENT of the 2027 Officers will be shared.

Update:
● (From Sept.’s meeting:) Robert S. has been working on having a ‘Weir All In This Together’ type, local Dead tribute bands’ collaboration event for Saturday, Oct. 17th (the day after Bob Weir’s Birthday). Robert shared info about Ellis Island having an 85 person spot upstairs (possible daytime Bobby event). Also, DUSTLAND BAR might be an option. Paige reached out to Robert. No response.
● LVJBS HOLIDAZE PARTY: We will ask Garage MaHall about these dates. Another option was ADA’s WINE BAR has the indoor/outdoor area & have welcomed us to book our event there: SATURDAY, 12/5 OR Friday, 12/18. Greg to contact Matt at Garage Mahal. Ada’s Wine Bar (Kat) is a small
space and acoustic only. Band ideas Smokelahoma, Dead Marley Matthews Band (drummer from Particle), “That1Guy” (not responding to messages)
