Item 1: President’s Report (Jessica G.):

A. Ad-Partnerships updates:
*BBLV:
Joe Russo’s Almost Dead (JRAD) July 30th–We had two extra tickets that were given to two members (like-share-comment). We were also offered 6 tickets for the Red Eye Gin, August 1st event. There weren’t any needs for them after the initial Lotto-post was made.
Will offer upcoming show-partnerships closer to:
Get the Led Out (Sept. 20), Toadies (Oct. 2), Roger Cline & the Peacemakers (Oct. 4), Snarky Puppy (Oct. 5), Dub Side of the Moon w/ RedEyeGin (Oct. 16), UB40 (Nov. 1), Violent Femmes (Dec. 13)
*VIRGIN THEATER: BEAT (Bozzio, Steve Vai, etc.) on Oct. 13.
*Dogs In A Pile tentative January 2027 at Area 15. We should be able to set up a table & help with an Ad-Partnership! (Still awaiting an update from Andrew C.)
B. Our Q3 SandDollar LV partnership event was SHAKY FEELIN’ on Friday, July 31st. Thanks to the Volunteers who helped with the ‘table’ and for our VP Jaime who had organized the items for us in a suitcase for easy transportation.
(Raffle: We ‘raffled off’ the Wooden ‘one show at a time’ plaque, some Autographed D. Gans/Rainin’ Moonshine & Shaky Feelin’ posters & a couple of the Jammin’On dyes) There were no License plate sales–only the two Autographed Shaky Feelin’ ones. (Q4 event: Let’s aim for MOKSHA–More info TBD.)
C. Instrument donations to happen after schools start back: End of August/early September (Spoke with the Band Director at Cortney JHS who is eager to meet us all.)
D. Venue options:
Tommy Rockers (on Dean Martin, near Flamingo Rd.) Now hosting bands (Fri/Sat Evenings). Bartender suggested contacting their Manager for future bookings, via Facebook.
Dust Land Bar Angela exchanged emails with Brittany from Dust Land. They would like to learn more about LVJBS and schedule a time to meet.
Rustic Lounge (currently doing Thursday night Jams) & are willing to work with us. Contact DeziLou.
E. Grateful Dead’s Meet-Up At the Movies (6-17-91, Giants Stadium show) playing in five local Cinemas on Saturday, Aug. 8th (3 PM) & Monday, Aug. 10th (6 PM).
Thoughts of having a matinee 3 PM ‘LVJBS Meet up’ at Towns Square, Saturday, 8/8, with a YARD HOUSE Happy Hour afterwards (approx. 6 PM) until the group wants to venture over to the SANDDOLLAR LV for the CATFISH JOHN show (approx. 8 PM for the 10 PM-2 AM show.)
F. We now have 4.978 Facebook Fans. We had mentioned announcing when there are 5k Fan-Likes & offering an Annual Membership to that lucky recipient! (We will inquire from Tiffany B. what the numbers for the InstaGram account show.)
Item 2: Vice President’s Report (Jaime H.):
- VOLUNTEER EVENT Three Square Food Bank–‘Volunteer Room Evening Pack’, Mondays, 5-7 PM, max of 20 people (age 10+ years old): Helping pack produce and grocery items for elderly & local students.
Monday, August 31st (5-7 PM) is confirmed. Facebook event made by Jaime.
(Considering a future event on a weekend in October.)
The plan is to possibly make it a quarterly event.
We will be provided an information packet with details and expectations prior to the event.
- After the last meeting, RICHIE LIPSTEIN, ESQ. messaged with Jaime about a National Website ‘Jamband Alliance’. They worked with the band, DRIVING THE BUS, after a Dead & Co, Sphere show. $750k has been raised so far and he wants to work with the LVJBS/other Jamband Societies of America. Jaime to see if he wants to plan an in-person (preferred) or virtual meeting with the Officers in Sept. (Date thoughts: Tuesday, 9/8 or 9/15, 7 PM to discuss this more.) Date/time confirmation TBD, by Sept.’s Officers’ meeting.
Item 3: TREASURER’S REPORT (Paige.):
- PEF Scholarship Letter of Intent Received. We had a deadline to commit to our contribution. The Officers voted for 2 (two) $500 increments for 2027.
- We will continue with PayPal & credit card input through WildApricot, along with Venmo & Zelle.
- 2026 DUES/Member updates –
- Raffle items had: We still have 2-3 JamminOn dyes (sizes 2x/3x)
- We sold 2 License Plates at the Shaky Feelin’ event.
- The Tolsons recently attended the Pioneer Saloon’s Annual PigRoast, where JUSTIN HARRIS & THE POCKET ACES (from Montana) played.
- No funds were raised for the David Gans’ SoulBelly event, yet we had great advertising for the event and on the ‘Tales From the Golden Road’ radio show interview.
- Met Grateful Don at the CopaRoom (He was selling merch at a recent show). He’s recently moved back to our area and offered to be a vendor at a future event if we’d like.
Item 4: SECRETARY’S REPORT (Angela):
- Jessica G. sent the agenda & Jessica assisted with the completion/posting of the August meeting’s minutes.
Item 5: MAYOR’S REPORT (Haley S.)

*Update on the LVJBS Memorial Box photo archive: Haley now has it & will work with JFree on combining his photos/keepsakes with the carry-box.
(new add: Elizabeth Kline–Will she be honored at the Annual Memorial Tree service–Possibly Sunday, 11/1 with a Drum Circle or individual one? We will see what Aurora/Larry/Karyn are planning and follow-up at September’s meeting.) Haley to contact JFree for a save-the-date.
PRODUCTION REPORT(Greg):
Update:
- Robert S. has been working on having a ‘Weir All In This Together’ type, local Dead tribute bands’ collaboration event for Saturday, Oct. 17th (the day after Bob Weir’s Birthday). Robert shared info about Ellis Island having an 85 person spot upstairs (possible daytime Bobby event). Also, DUSTLAND BAR might be an option.

SHAKY FEELIN’ – Dec. Holidaze party at Garage Mahall (or, for Tecopa in November) *both events TBD
The Rainin’ Moonshine Band inquired about a future ‘Garage MaHall’ event.
The Motet or Dopapod (considerations for a 2026 show since those shows went well last time through Las Vegas!)
The Dead Marley Matthews Band (from So.Cal) would be a good contact. They may also have contact with Particle.
Mason’s Children (east-coast GD Tribute band) suggested by Kathy G.
OPEN FLOOR (all):
*Suggestion by EricFrobi about the previously mentioned ‘future’ LVJBS bench/donation at UNLV—How about contacting the new HARD ROCK HOTEL to see about a donation for something we can have our name on in a ‘jamband’ ‘Dead’ area at their new Hotel?
Update: This will be discussed at the Virtual Reunion Meeting on 8/11.
*JT sent Greg & Jessica info on a possible future GOLF FUNDRAISER for the Fall: GolfStatus (info on Facebook or GolfStatus.com) (Haley to follow-up prior to the September meeting.)
*Adopt–A-Highway -Next ‘after-summer’ event date thought: Sunday September 20th, 10 am.
*In May, Paige mentioned a future table (Recycled Propaganda: Art Gallery on Main Street) We are now aiming for a DECEMBER 4th date. Paige to make contact with them in October to reserve a spot.
*Received an email from someone who wanted the LVJBS to check out musician Cassandra Lewis after seeing her at High Sierra Music Festival (HSMF). Replied them with contact information for the SandDollar LV in case future west coast ventures are planned.
*Website update: Samantha Schwartz has been working on our new website.
August update:
Sam sent an update: She added most of the events to the website and worked on the ‘tool’ to add them with ease. She is going to make a video to show Angela/Jessica the how-to & added different user-roles.
Paige downloaded the WildApricot Members’ list and sent them Sam’s way prior to the meeting. Angela to discuss the Sept. 30th deadline need with Sam before the September 1st meeting.
UPCOMING LVJBS (& non-LVJBS) events:
Angela is working on a new GoogleSheet (copy/pasted below) to help add the events to the monthly minutes & will let us know the update on or before the Sept. 1st meeting.
