Item 1: President’s Report (Jessica G.):
“Welcome Officers, JT, and our Tecopa Board of Directors!”
A. TECOPA TAKEOVER (Dave Bichsel & Jeffrey Trower)
- November 6-8, 2026
- Dave shared the booked bands with us & Stacey F.’s great logo!
- We decided to support the Festival with a $1000 donation.
- They are looking for Vendors who would like to reserve a booth for $200 (which includes 2 weekend passes). Jeffrey to make a post and we will share it.
- (Paige to send Grateful Don the info on it.)
- JFree will have a StarLink available for interested vendors to have ‘virtual’ billing ease.
- JFree isn’t doing a RAFFLE this year, but is donating a Djembe drum that will be displayed at the entrance for those to donate $20 for a chance to win it at weekend’s end. (The Tolsons will keep the drum in their nearby room for ease.)
B. Ad-Partnerships updates:
*BBLV:
Jessica was going to send the offer to BBLV for the Sept. 20th GET THE LED OUT event,yet it conflicts with the REd Eye Gin, SandDollar Liz Memorial. She will inquire about the upcoming October-December show-partnerships next:
Toadies (Oct. 2), Roger Cline & the Peacemakers (Oct. 4), Snarky Puppy (Oct. 5), Dub Side of the Moon w/ RedEyeGin (Oct. 16), UB40 (Nov. 1), Violent Femmes (Dec. 13)
*VIRGIN THEATER: BEAT (Bozzio, Steve Vai, etc.) on Oct. 13.
*Dogs In A Pile tentative January 2027 at Area 15. We should be able to set up a table & help with an Ad-Partnership! (Still awaiting an update from Andrew C.)
C. Our Q4 SandDollar LV event: MOKSHA is confirmed for Saturday, 10/23.
D. Instrument donations to happen after schools start back: Aiming for date decision by mid-September in hopes to present the instruments to the school at the end of September/early October. (Spoke with the Band Director at Cortney JHS who is eager to meet us all–The Guitar is needed most of all.)
- Kathy G. suggested future ZOOM gifting of the instruments for those unable to attend the presentation. Jessica will look into the FERPA (Privacy act) of students displayed online without Parent signed permissions, etc. (The past events had students in the photos who had signed releases.)
- Jaime will donate her family’s drum kit for a future donation. We also have the Viola.
E. We now have 4,991 Facebook Fans. We had mentioned announcing when there are 5k Fan-Likes & offering an Annual Membership to that lucky recipient! (Tiffany B. confirmed the InstaGram account numbers: 1,364)
F. 2027 OfficersNOMINATIONS to happen in OCTOBER. Discussion on how we should proceed. There will be in-person nominations at the October 6th public meeting (anyone can nominate, only paid members can vote in November.) Jessica will create a Facebook post with the Offices listed where people can comment their nominations & will send the details to JT to help with the WildApricot email sharing on Sept. 30th. Once the nominations are done, we will set a deadline for the ACCEPTING/DECLINING the Nomination(s).
NOVEMBER: VOTING for the OFFICERS (only PAID Members can vote. We will create a GoogleForm for voters to place their votes (Yet, to ensure only PAID Members are voting, this will not be able to remain anonymous; therefore, only a couple Officers will have access to the responses and to count the votes.
DECEMBER: ANNOUNCING the 2027 Officers will be shared at the Meeting (Those nominees will be invited to the December meeting.)
Item 2: Vice President’s Report (Jaime H.):
- CANCELED VOLUNTEER EVENT (due to lack of confirmed volunteers)
Three Square Food Bank–‘Volunteer Room Evening Pack’, Mondays, 5-7 PM, max of 20 people (age 10+ years old): Helping pack produce and grocery items for elderly & local students.
Monday, August 31st (5-7 PM) (canceled)
(Considering a future event on a weekend, ensuring the invites are sent to email addresses, as well.)
- After the last meeting, RICHIE LIPSTEIN, ESQ. messaged with Jaime about a National Website ‘Jamband Alliance’. They worked with the band, DRIVING THE BUS, after a Dead & Co, Sphere show. $750k has been raised so far and he wants to work with the LVJBS/other Jamband Societies of America. Jaime to see if He would be interested in coming to our Tuesday, Oct. 6th meeting, prior to the meeting time (5 PM) to discuss his program with the Officers (meeting would still be at 7 PM). More details TBD.
Item 3: TREASURER’S REPORT (Paige.):
- PEF Scholarship Letter of Intent Received. We had a deadline to commit to our contribution. The Officers voted for 2 (two) $500 increments for 2027. (Paige submitted the ‘letter of intent’ & the to-do list schedule of dates will soon be emailed our way
- We will continue with PayPal & credit card input through WildApricot, along with Venmo & Zelle.
- 2026 DUES/Member updates – No new memberships
- Raffle items had: We still have 2-3 JamminOn dyes (sizes 2x/3x)
- Paige to get Jessica the box of unsold License plates and the Raffle T-shirts since she will be moving homes and wants the boxes to be somewhere accessible.
- Paige had some LVJBS posters to get to Thom & Emily Rogers in Hawaii. Jaime to give them to them in CO this weekend instead of us having to pay for postage. Thanks, Jaime!
Item 4: SECRETARY’S REPORT (Angela–absent):

- Jessica G. sent the agenda & Jessica assisted with the completion/posting of the August meeting’s minutes.
(We need to ensure minutes are posted ASAP–Goal, within 48 hours, no later than 1 week.)
Item 5: MAYOR’S REPORT (Haley S.)

*Update on the LVJBS Memorial Box photo archive: Haley now has it & will work with JFree on combining his photos/keepsakes with the carry-box.
*New add: Elizabeth Kline–Will be honored at the Annual Memorial Tree service–Possibly Sunday, 11/1 @ SUNSET PARK with a Drum Circle. Jaime will bring her photo printer machine to help print out any needed Memorial Photos.
(*NEW UPDATE (Paige via Karyn) on Lightning Liz Kline’s MEMORIAL SERVICE (Sunday, Sept. 20th, a Memorial for Liz with the music of RED EYE GIN at the SandDollar, 9 PM.)
*JT sent Greg & Jessica info on a possible future GOLF FUNDRAISER for the Fall: GolfStatus (info on Facebook or GolfStatus.com) (Haley to follow-up prior to the September meeting–sharing ideas with JT.)

Update:
- Robert S. has been working on having a ‘Weir All In This Together’ type, local Dead tribute bands’ collaboration event for Saturday, Oct. 17th (the day after Bob Weir’s Birthday). Robert shared info about Ellis Island having an 85 person spot upstairs (possible daytime Bobby event). Also, DUSTLAND BAR might be an option. (Paige to message & see if there is an update on this happening?)
- CYTRUS, this MONDAY, SEPT. 7th @ The SandDollar LV. 10 PM show. Let’s help to advertise this weeknight show more!!!
- LVJBS HOLIDAZE PARTY: We will ask Garage MaHall about these dates: SATURDAY, 12/5 OR Friday, 12/18. Bands & date TBD.

The Rainin’ Moonshine Band & Soul Juice Band have inquired about a future ‘Garage MaHall’ event.
The Motet or Dopapod (considerations for a 2026 show since those shows went well last time through Las Vegas!)
The Dead Marley Matthews Band (from So.Cal) would be a good contact. They may also have contact with Particle. (Jessica to send a Message to either or both bands to see what would be needed on our end to have them come play for us (Maybe a Holidaze Party!?)
Mason’s Children (east-coast GD Tribute band) suggested by Kathy G.
Cassandra Lewis (seen at the last HSMF–suggested making contact with the SandDollar for a future event.)
MOE. (they mentioned some support our way when they were at the Bender Jamboree last year)
Venue options:
Tommy Rockers (on Dean Martin, near Flamingo Rd.) Now hosting bands (Fri/Sat Evenings). Bartender suggested contacting their Manager for future bookings, via Facebook. Dust Land Bar Angela exchanged emails with Brittany from Dust Land. They would like to learn more about LVJBS and schedule a time to meet. Rustic Lounge (currently doing Thursday night Jams) & are willing to work with us. Contact DeziLou.
OPEN FLOOR (all):
*On August 11th, some of the current Officers, Past Officers, original Board of Directors/Tribal Elders had a GoogleMeet meeting to discuss what the LVJBS has been working on, our recent stats, and concerns about the Society’s future if Volunteers/Membership starts to decline.
*Adopt–A-Highway -Next ‘after-summer’ event date thought: Sunday September 20th, 10 am.
*In May, Paige mentioned a future table (Recycled Propaganda: Art Gallery on Main Street) We are now aiming for a DECEMBER 4th date. Paige to make contact with them in October to reserve a spot.
*Website update: Samantha Schwartz has been working on our new website.
August update RECAP: (No recap)
Sam sent an update: She added most of the events to the website and worked on the ‘tool’ to add them with ease. She is going to make a video to show Angela/Jessica the how-to & added different user-roles.
Paige downloaded the WildApricot Members’ list and sent them Sam’s way prior to the meeting.
Angela to discuss the Sept. 30th deadline date with Sam before the September 1st meeting –(No update due to Angela’s absence from the meeting.)
UPCOMING LVJBS (& non-LVJBS) events:
Angela is working on a new GoogleSheet to help add the events to the monthly minutes & will let us know the update on or before the Sept. 1st meeting. (No update)
